Step on up!

Spring 2017 is here and, I hope, the trends are here to stay!
I think this is the season to be a wanderer! The flowers are blooming and I am, too! (Insert winking face here.)
This season features a few of my all-time favorite trends and I’m peeling off my winter layers with:
1- a fresh perspective and
2- a down-to-earth attitude.
That’s where Fossil comes in! If you are a part of the #wanderfolk movement, I think you’ll like the Fossil accessories I’ve chosen to incorporate in these spring looks.
Like macaroons from Ladurée, this year’s spring trends are colorful, sweet, and fun to eat!
Wait, that’s not right.
Light is what I meant! This year’s spring trends are light. Not edible.
Think pastels, breezy materials, cuts that fall off the shoulders.
Fringes and frays. And florals.
But really, florals. They’re everywhere aka, your options are endless.
I love the detailing in Fossil’s Kendall crossbody. It has fringe and braided detailing, as well as Fossil’s signature key charm and use of quality leather. My Kendall is in blue but you can shop this bohemian one, currently on sale, here: Kendall Multi Brown
This purse is good for traipsing along city streets, festival wear (v dance move friendly), and all excursions where you’d prefer to feel like you have nothing on you. There’s plenty of space for your cell, a compact, small wallet, and your favorite lippies.
Most of the bags I’ve bought over the past year have been crossbody bags. I forgot how awesome it is to be able to carry your whole life around with you until I got the Maya Hobo.
(*face palm* because I’m a give me an inch and I’ll run a mile, type of gal)
Good thing is, Maya doesn’t allow you to go overboard. The bag can fit a lot but it won’t, for example, fit my laptop. Well, at least not comfortably. My iPad however–good to go!
You know what. Let’s look in my bag right now. It’s next to me. If you were to look in my Maya Hobo currently, you’d find:
-keys w/ accompanying fluffball
-my glasses case
-Hot Cheetos bag (empty.)
-…assortment…of makeup products
-make remover wipes
-Biotin supplements (hehe)
-Diet Snapple Peach Tea
-Fossil Q Wander Smartwatch (I’m serious.
Only not wearing cause it’s dead. Too bad I
don’t have the charger for that in here.)
-Coldwater Eyewear Sunglasses
-Some contraband (lol, can I joke about that?)
So, yeah–it is really nice to be able to carry your life over your shoulder. In the case of the Maya Hobo you can carry your life over your shoulder or* across your body with the extra, long strap.
You shall be the chicest, mock-hobo on the block.
This bag is available in an assortment of colors
Like the off-the-shoulder trend, mules and open back shoes (Gucci slides for one, please!) have been on the come up for a while. Both trends exude an effortless femininity, a flirty and “undone” feel. Much of this spring feels extra laid back. Think: “I’m going to Coachella because music moves my soul and I’m a spirit being blown on the wind and I’m just so cool” (*cries cause will never be able to afford Coachella*). Anyways, this mindset will also lead you back to fringe, to crop tops, and glossy makeup.
Speaking of glossy.
The 80’s have been all over the runways, magazines, and your local Forever21, but the 70s and the 90s are still the big kids on the block!
If you want to channel the part of the 80s that was cool, look for light, mesh tops to layer over your bralettes and slip dresses. Pop on a neon hat or a pastel, pleather mini skirt–wear vibrant eyeshadows and lipsticks, get yourself a scrunchy and a pair of Reeboks, or stock up on some funny graphic tees.
Fangirl-ing over the 70s and 90s comes easy to my spring style spirit. Hit up Zara for some flared jeans. Go just about anywhere for an off-the-shoulder top with some bohemian sleeves. Browse the selection of chokers at Nordstrom, Forever21, and Target.
Alright! Maybe I should have started with this item because I am more obsessed with it than any other material item I own. The smartwatch!
I am very tech-y and have been wanting a smartwatch since Apple came out with theirs. I am very much an Apple girl–but, when it comes to style, I have a very strong sense of what I like and don’t like. And I wasn’t a huge fan of Apple’s designs.
I know. How could I.
I wanted a smartwatch for the functionality and the idea of it (I am a watch person)… but I wasn’t willing to wear a smartwatch because I didn’t like the designs. Then I saw Fossil’s line, my eyes turned into hearts, it was lust at first sight as I realized, I could have it all! Style and technology all in one–ah, that’s the good stuff.
Introducing: Fossil Gen 2 Smartwatch Q Wander
Fossil’s collection of smartwatches is worth browsing. Indefinitely. There are too many cool designs for you to not look beyond the design I chose.
However! I will say that mine is my favorite 🙂
The two pictures above show 2 of the 15 or so different faces I can swap my watch between. It is very much Apple compatible, however there are options the watch is limited to with the iPhone because it is more Android-friendly.
Like I said… I am very tech-y and not having some of the Apple features available was hardly a sacrifice in order to have a smartwatch that I would actually like wearing.
I look forward to putting it on and find that the white/gold combo is extremely versatile. I dress it up for daily use, as you see in this post’s pictures, but I love to dress it down and let it elevate my workout fits. 😉
Alright, that about does it for today. All this talk of spring and fresh trends has me thinking about doing some much needed spring cleaning…
So, I’m off to do some purging and candle lighting! I’d add in something about open windows but April showers have hit Texas heavy. While I’m organizing, you can browse outfit links inspired by this post! Happy shopping!
